Mrs. J

Megan Johnston is a teacher and co-owner of The J’s Place. Megan has a passion for child centered learning and supporting children's social and emotional well being. She began studying early childhood education at San Francisco State University and is currently enrolled at Saddleback College to obtain her Site Supervisor Certificate of Achievement. She has 6 years experience working in preschool settings at Lakeside Academy, Maui Preparatory Academy, and Montessori at the Ranch.

Nick Johnston is also a teacher and co-owner of The J’s Place. He began working with young children during his high school and college years through various athletic camps and skill development classes. After graduating from Cal State Fullerton, he worked in the hospitality industry for over 5 years. During those 5 years, he was also coaching high school basketball while attaining his Master's Degree in Coaching & Athletic Administration from Concordia University Irvine. Nick then realized his true passion was working with children and he became a substitute teacher for two years. He is currently taking courses at Saddleback College to attain an Early Childhood Teacher Certificate of Achievement.

Megan and Nick were married in 2016 after being together since 2011. They had their first child, Quinn, in early 2020. They are looking forward to having other children learn alongside their son and make lasting connections with other families.
